What is QC4.0? QC4.0 is an upgraded version of QC3.0. Qualcomm company launched a new generation of fast charging technology QC4.0 in New York on November 17, 2016. Qualcomm uses 5 FOR 5 to describe QC4.0. The idea is to use QC4.0 charging technology to allow users to charge for 5 hours and 5 minutes .

QC4.0 fast charging protocol mainly has the following improvements:

QC4.0 is compatible with previous QC3.0 and QC2.0 fast charging, and it supports USB C and USB PD;
More advanced technology is added to the electrical appliances, which extends the battery life and reduces the heating conditions during charging, thus improving the safety of charging.
The maximum power will be adjusted to 28W, which will support two solutions of high voltage and high current, which will improve the heating and battery loss, and further improve the charging speed.
The second power management chip is used to provide dual fast charging, combined with intelligent heat balance design, and optimize charging efficiency.
