QI is an interface standard developed by the wireless power alliance for inductive power transmission over distances of up to 4 cm (1.6 inches). The Qi system includes a power transmission board and a compatible receiver in a portable device. In order to use the system, the mobile device is placed on the top of the power transmission pad, which is charged by resonance induction coupling.
